Q.M.S. Jas Huston of the Arrnouries, Cobourg, has received a letter from 'Scotty' Munn, with the 14th Field Battery at Salisbury Plains, in which he says:-

Major Ralston has had quite a bit of changing around. First he was put Major of the 9th Battalion, then Major Adjutant of the 3rd Brigade, C.F.A., and now he is officer commanding the Divisional Ammunition Column, Section 1. He likes it very much and also the officers. The two Lieutenants and the Captain come from London. The Colonel we have is Col. Penhale. He is a dandy officer. The weather here is very wet and cold. The horses are still out and are not looking bad. The tents we have here are no good.
1 am the only one of the bunch that left Cobourg with the 14th that is till with Major Ralston. We have a good wooden floor and a double tent. He bought a stove and I make cocoa at nights and in the mornings.
