Dear Duchess,
By now I imagine you are up again & well enough to play with the boys once more. I got into Toronto yesterday morning & practically the entire city was paralyzed because of icy roads. Every block was the scene of an auto accident & the street cars were held up for hours because of obstructed tracks etc.
Coming thru Brandon I met several more fellows from the Highlands. They tell me that Tony Ross washed out & is now the librarian in the depot there & his brother Godfrey is a mechanic near Winnipeg.
The train stopped for only a moment at Carberry & so I was unable to meet Ev. However we were able to see the barracks about a mile from the railway station & they certainly weren't much to look at.
I hope you are being a very good girl & don't you dare get sick again.
Love
Newton
