Madam.

I have the honor to write a short letter to you enquireing as to the state of your health and to the welfare of all at home.

well I suppose you got my letter of the 9th inst, telling what to tell Fred about comming over here? if so be sure and impress upon him the importance of what i say.

Well we are having some nice weather over here now but it is as hot as hell in fact it allways is over here if it is not raining but it rains about 4 days a week.

I have my 7 days pass and went to see all the old folks, and they were sure glad to see meGramma allmost went crazy and said it made her feel quite young again to see me. Ihad a swell time at Balham with Aunt Emma Iwas quite supprised to see how much like mother she looked,

Of course they all wanted to know how you were and what you looked like so I told them you were the only one say a lawyer could not handed it out better than I did.

Well I must close as I have to go on parade to see Old sam Hughes he is inspecting us to day.

I have not had a letter from home yet but I am still waiting so waiting I will close so good-bye love to all.

I have the honor to be
