Dear Mother¬,

Just a few lines to let you know how I'm getting along and hoping this finds you all well, as this leaves me. Well, mother, we moved at last, and got here Thursday, and find things a lot better than we've been used to, as this is the best camp we've had so far, and the last was the worst, but we are good for them all. You'll be glad to know we have one party away on leave; and I've my name down for the next so I hope to go this week sometime. I put in for Starton, and I'm afraid I won't be able to go to aunt Libby's as we are only allowed to go to one place, but I'm going to try to get there. I would sooner go there anyway but I want to see grandma for you, so I may get the chance to see them later. Well, mother, I like this place fine, and I think we all do. I was down to Folkstone yesterday afternoon, and was down to the seaside. I wonder if you've been there; it's a nice place, but an awful crowd of soldiers there; it's not warm enough for bathing yet, although we are getting beautiful weather just now. I wonder what it's like at home. I hope you're getting it the same, and getting on with the spring work. The farmers are busy here seeding, but they go about it in a different way. Don't forget to let me know how Joe's eye is, and don't let him work too hard. Well, mother dear, I have to close now, and I'll be sure to write next Sunday, so love to all,

Your loving son, Frank
