Dear Friend.

Jim said he was going to write so very likely he will tell you all the news, omiting (sic) no doubt something though. However I'm not going to let out on him for he's a pretty good little boy after all. The other night we were taking our washing over to the house and it was quite dark and as we didn't know exactly which house it was, we naturally stopped a couple of women and enquired. I will try and describe the scene as it took place. Jim as usual stood about three feet away, and let me do the talking, while he had the point of advantage he could look them both over anyhow. One was pushing a baby carriage, not to(sic) bad looking, and said her husband was over in France but I judged from the conversation that she had one in every port. Now the other she said she was married also and I just thought to myself "God bless the hen-pecked husbands". I didn't get a chance to look at their feet, no they were large enough anyhow. At last I managed to find out the house so we bid them goodbye and departed. All the Spencerville fellows are fine. Ed is up to Scotland on six day leave, now Jim and I intend going next week.

Well Jennie must close now. Take a good skate for me and try and keep May from being a woman suffraget.

Sincerely
Stuart
