June 3, 1944. Dearest Mom - A week ago I rec'd 13 letters, yours Jan. 20, 22, 31 and Feb. 6, and group snaps Sagan[?]. They sure turned out well, didn't they? Also two Jan sports letters from Jim, and letters from Bill Jones, Carl Stocker and Capt. Fraser, David Benett & Jean McMillan. Latest from you in March 5. The six records arrived including Mairzy Doats, which is catching on fast around the camp. It's a good selection, Mom, thanks a lot. Surrey with Fringe on Top is good. Got a letter from Brenda Feb. 9. Every couple of days I get my album out and look at pictures of Linda. She's sure a cute kid, isn't she? Q[?] of fags coming in from B.C. House, Knights of Phythias etc. I give quite a few fags to new Canucks. Rec'd first letter in long time from my father in Vancouver and decided to write him. I kept forgetting to put F/S on letter, did so this time. Very quiet here at present, my tan is coming along. Jim Chrystal's folks left Victoria, so all is fine. Solong for now, love to all, Syd.
