May 15, 1944 Dearest Mom - Yesterday rec'd a real landslide 23 letters, no less 9 were from you, Jan & Feb, latest Mar. 8, 6 from Brenda, latest Feb 25, three from Jim, one Mr. Jelachine, R. Quaele, and Mr. Adam. So you can see I had a full hour of reading to get through them all. Also the snaps of Linda, who is without doubt the most beautiful baby I have ever seen. No wonder Brenda & Rob are so proud, she's the tops. Rec'd ski-boots, Feb, personal, five books. The last couple of days I've been putting the first installments on this year's sun tan. Softball and basketball are in full swing here now, they sure help pass the time. Thanks Auntie Mae for ski-shoes. Most of been quite a fine at Sprott-Shaw. Sorry to hear about Ron Dorean and Jack Riddle. I have enough vitamin for couple of months yet. Glad you liked group pictures. I hope Rob gets his transfer, it'll be swell for everyone. Well, so long for now, lots of love, Syd.
