Dear Friends:

Once more I have the honour of thanking you all for the magnificent way in which you have remembered me during my absence from home.

It is with great pride that I look upon my old friends and fellow students of Humewood School. Receiving your gifts is like being back home again once more. It brings back many memories of the good old days.

We all hope that this war will not last too long and that victory will come to us all in 1945.
