My Dear Doris:-

I have a letter of yours dated Nov 14-1914 just a year ago to-a-day.

With it was that nice warm scarf for which I must thank you very much.

It gives a soldier a great deal of pleasure that the girls of Canada are so thoughtful of their comfort.

We are still fighting Germans and as soon it will be very cold & wet—But our brave Canadian boys don’t mind it very much and can stand the nasty, muddy, Trenches quite as well as any.

During the cold days of winter – we have to spend from 4 to 6 days in the Trenches and then we get the same period out. Many of us have cold, wet feet every day from the time they go in.

My regiment is from N.S and not from the West. Many western regiments are here though.

Again I must thank you for your kindly gift.

Yours Sincerly,

67130 Staff Sgt. Percy C. Willmot

25th Cad. Battin c/o War Office
