Dear Ollie:

This is Sun. night. I did not have to go on guard today and glad of it for it rained like blazes all day, but have to go on in the morning. I am feeling fine but Squire is sick abed the same as I was. Hope he don’t have to go to Hospital but he is quite sick. He will get clear of guard at any rate. It’ mud to your knees up where we have to guard but I will take that before I would go through this distemper again. I sent any news, Kelly and I are going down to Jack Crookshank’s tonight. Mrs. Hodges planned to spend Xmas there. Would like to see her Kelly. Saw Holmes Tupper and Joe Wentzel Fri. night. They were in for booze. He saw quite a lot of people from Aylesford. Guess will quit for it’s about time we were going.  Will be home sometime, guess Thurs. I hear we are going to Bermuda right off. One Batt. is going for sure and hope it’s us for it’s going to be hell here in the winter.

Good night

Jack
