Dearest Mother.
You seen that Harold has at last received your parcel. It arrived on Saturday afternoon & he bought it home to me & we unpacked it together. My it was well packed & I am having a good tuck in while Harold is at work. We tried the pudding yesterday & it was very good indeed. The cake Harold likes very much but it is a bit too Americian for me. But I expect that I shall get used to these things bye & bye. Well, Mother I am just writing these few lines to you as the Darling Boy has a head-ache & he is resting a bit now. The Oxo is very useful as we always have a cup of concentrated soup every night before going to bed, the kettle is singing now. & yours came in very useful just now as we were running out & haven’t a cent to buy any more, as the Army is sticking to our money of course they say every day that they will pay to-morrow but think they mean to go on like that until the end of the war which will be another 2 years or so. Anyhow we are alive & happy, fortunately the old people who we are lodging with are very good about keeping me for nothing, which is unusally in England. I can tell you! We hope that you are getting along better now & both you & Greta are keeping fine now. Please give Hazel our love when you see her. Which I guess is very often as you are both in the same building.
With Best Love from us both, we are your loving Son & Daughter
Harold & Florence
