Dearest Mother,

I am sending you the photo of myself which I promised you in my last letter. I don’t know whether you received that letter or not. I sent it to Russell Hotel, but put Robson St address on it too. I sent Hazel one of these photo’s the other day. I guess I ought to have written this yesterday to have caught today’s mail. But I hope that you may get this by Christmas. & I want you to have a Happy Christmas with your children & feel very happy about our Darling Boy. Because he is not being sent to the front now & need not go at all for months & months. & you may guess that I shall not be in any hurry to lose him. I shall want to keep him all the time. Perhaps we shall be already married by the time this reaches you. There is only another 16 dys & then I hope to be going down to Ashford & be so happy with my Darling. We are going to be so very happy together Mother dear. He is such a Darling & he makes me so happy when I am with him. I went down & spent the whole day with him last Sunday. I am just going to try & do all the nice things that he likes to make him Happy. I do love to see him pleased about things. I do love him some!! I expect that we shall be sending you some more photo’s next month. With Best Love & every good wish for Christmas & the New Year.

I remain

your loving little daughter.

Florence.

P.S Dearest Mother

I nearly forgot to send my Mother’s love to you, she told me to & to say that she would like to write to you herself, but that she smashed the top of her first finger of her right hand a few years ago & finds it very difficult to write. In fact I do all her correspondence for her, except to Dad of course! She says that she would very much like to meet you, but is afraid that there will be no chance of it.
