Christmas Morning
#58 C.C.S.
Dear Everyone at home,
I’m rather annoyed to find myself still here but, as there was no hospital train yesterday, I couldn’t get away to base. Maybe we’ll go tomorrow. A Merry Christmas to all of you; I only wish I could say it to you but, here’s luck to next year as it ought to be all over by then.
We’re progressing favourably with the war: - we must be winning; and here’s the reason. Last Xmas Eve I hung my sock up in my billet and got it full of snow! Besides that I, myself was almost snowed under But this morning I found a hospital bag on the foot of my stretcher containing chocolate; writing paper, cigarettes and a pencil. Not too bad eh!
I have nothing of interest to say now so here’s luck.
I remain
Your loving
Mac
