Letter
Toronto, May 11th, 1916.
Dear Mrs. Platt,
I wish to add my word of praise to the universal chorus on behalf of your heroic son. I had the honour of his acquaintance as a fellow officer in the Queen’s Own Rifles and again as Medical Officer of the Civic Military Guard. He was admired by every officer and man, and we keenly feel the loss of a dear friend. The regiment laments his loss, but feel he has added a glorious page to its history.
May your grief be tempered with the pride of having given to your country an heroic son.
I have the honour to remain, with sympathy
Yours sincerely
Frederick Winnett.
