My Own Dear Mother,

This week I received a letter from you two from Eve and one from Dad. Now I am sure you do not expect me to answer each letter individualy. So as I wrote Eve about a week ago, I will answer yours to-day and Dad the first chance I get probably to-morrow. I heard from Gran a few days ago, and she seems to be all fixed up at the Raines. Well by the time this letter reaches you, it will be very near Xmas, and I was going to send you all a card, but we are not allowed to send cards of any kind to the States. But anyhow I hope and I know you will spend a very Merry Xmas. Give my best wishes to Uncle Jack and Aunty Madge. I will write to Julian and Margaret and will send them a card each. They must think I have forgotten them, it is such a long time since I wrote. I received the pictures you sent. Eve is quite an expert. That one of the passing liner is certainly splendid, I showed it to some of my friends and they all say it is very good. As to the pictures of yourselves, they are also very good but you look so very glum and you must not look like that. Eve is not so bad, she is laughing, and that is the way you should be. The pictures you sent me of yourself and the dogs were the best yet. We are having pretty good weather for November. Rain of cours we get all kinds of that though this last week has been very nice. Now please take note of my address, I have told you a dozen times about it, and yet you still put the old address on your letters and they go all over the place before I get them. I am very pleased that Eve got a good watch. I have not got one myself now. The one you sent me from Vancouver went all to pieces, then I bought one myself and that got broken, so I am doing without one untill I get back again into civil life. Well I am very pleased to know that things are going so well with you now. I have none news for you, and I would like to get a few more letters off to-night so will you let me close now, and I will try to write to Dad to-morrow. Remember me to everybody.

Ever your loving Son
