My Own Dear Mother,
Just a few lines to-night, as this is all the paper I have, and anyhow I have no news for you. I do not know what is wrong with the mail just now. But I have not had any for a long time. There has not been any Canadian mail in for a very long time, I think some of it must have gone down on some of those ships that have been sunk. It is over two weeks since I had a letter from you. Well I hope the news of the war is cheering you up a bit, it certainly looks pretty good just now.
By the time you get this letter I suppose you will been in Alaska again. I hope you will have as good a year as last. We are still having snow. But this will be the last I think, it is not very cold, so it will soon go away. Well Mother dear this is just to let you know I am keeping fine and well. And hope you are all the same. Give my love to Eve and Dad, and everybody else there. Hope you are taking care of yourself.
Best Love to All
Ever Your Loving Son
Eddie
