Dear Mother
They all say there is a mail somewhere in the country but I can’t prove it as yet. Some of the units have had mail but none has arrived for our company. Of course we live in hopes for another few days It must be about three weeks since I got that letter of yours April 15th and I know I am due for some more soon.
We are still getting good weather down this way as I suppose you are at home. It does not seem real to me that tomorrow will be Aug 1st or that I have been out here fifteen months. I guess I had better take out naturalization papers so as I can have a vote. As for moving out of the country we expected to go a year ago next month but I entertain less hopes now than I did at that time.
I am well down here and living good. I hope all the folks around home are the same. I didnt get that letter of Dad’s written yet but hope to in a few days Well Mother as I dont know what to put down here I had better close for this time I hope to get a letter any day now. Bye Bye with lots of love to all. I am
Your loving son
Harold.
