Dear Mother:-

This is Thursday and I have not received any mail this week so far. I suppose it will roll up tomorrow or Saturday. I haven’t had any local mail either this week, I wrote Rollie and had no reply, so I suppose he has sailed for home. He wrote before he was expecting to sail so I suppose he has done so. My other friends have deserted me also this week all except my Newport ones. They are as strong as ever and last Sunday was a duplicate of the one before. The weather here has broke at last and our cold snap has come to an end. The wet weather is here again and it rains all day every day. There is nothing much doing here and things are awful slow. The new army are beginning to train in the depot here but otherwise things are at a standstill. Demobilization is going on as per usual here and a few Canadians keep leaving here every now and again. I have heard nothing whatever as far as my repatriation is concerned and I don’t suppose I will hear for another month or so.

The flu is starting up again over here the same as at home and it is fairly general. A few people here are down with it but none of the boys from this camp have taken it so far. We have to be fumigated every so often as a prevention.

Well Mother I will ring off now as I have nothing to write about. Remember me to all my friends and relatives and tell them I will be home in six months or so. Bye Bye with lots of love to all
