DEAR MILDRED
YOUR AIR LETTERS OF FEB 14 AND MAR 3RD REACHED ME TODAY. I’M SURE SORRY YOU HAVE HAD SUCH A BAD TIME SIS BUT AS YOU SAY YOUR NOT QUITE SO UNLUCKY AS SOME. (I’M THINKING OF CHRISTINE, TED’S WIFE.) SHE HAD THE SAME BAD LUCK JUST THE WEEK THAT TED WENT TO ENGLAND (IF YOU REMEMBER I HAD TO SEE SHE WAS LOOKED AFTER WHEN SHE LEFT FOR CALGARY, AS TED HAD GONE AND CRIS WAS STILL SICK) ANYHOW CHIN UP AND GOOD LUCK NEXT TIME.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING SOME FUN TRAVELLING ABOUT BY MOTOR LORRY BUYING RATIONS FROM THE NAAFI AND IT SEEMS AS THOUGH GEOFF AND I WILL BE DOING IT EVERY WEEK NOW. THER’S ALSO A RUMOR THAT WE MAY GET LEAVE TO THE DELTA AREA BUT I’M NOT COUNTING ON THAT ‘CAUSE ITS ALONG WAY. WE HAVE BEEN WORKING FAIRLY HARD UP TO DATE AND AS YOU SEE IN THE NEWS THINGS ARE GOING ALONG VERY WELL OUT HERE. OUR CREW IS TOP-NOTCH AS USUAL AND I HOPE YOU AND JOHN ARE THE SAME WHEN THIS REACHES YOU. NO PARCELS SINCE MY LAST LETTER AND ONLY LETTERS DATED AUG AND SEPT. – BEST OF EVERYTHING –
LOVE –
LAWRENCE.
