LAUDS AMMUNITION UNIT

The newly-organized unit, the No 3 Sub-Park of the 1st Corps Ammunition Park, R.C.A.S.C., was inspected by Gen. Ashton at Fort York Armories before noon.

This unit, the personnel taken from the 1st Mechanical Transport Vehicle Reception Depot, R.C.A.S.C., is composed of 11 officers and 381 other ranks, with Major P.M.E. Purcell, officer commanding. The 1st Corps Ammunition Park has its headquarters at Regina, and eventually the Toronto unit will join up with Regina company.

Gen. Ashton commended the unit on its fine appearance. He was accompanied again by Brigadier R.O. Alexander, district officer commanding, and Col. S.A. Lee, Exhibition camp commandant.

Another draft of 125 men from the 1st M.T.V.R.D. is being sent to Ottawa where they will become part of the 1st Corps Petrol Park, R.C.A.S.C. with headquarters in Ottawa.
